The sort of lifeless motion that accompanies the cartoon version of Mark Oliver Everett (aka E) in this video for the Eels' 'End Times' -- intentional or not -- can be viewed as a kind of metaphor for the lyrics. There's a certain isolation implied, accompanied by a definite feeling of loneliness, even detachment. "I don't feel nothing now, not even fear," sings E, "now that end times are here."
